The current mode of the Infiniti JX35 has been released back in 2012 and since then it changed its name into the QX60 back in 2013. Considering that the car is already nearly four years old, it may receive an update sooner than expected and some rumors even suggested that the JX name could return. Unlike from what some said that the 2016 Infiniti JX35 will actually get an all new platform, it seems that Infiniti will only mildly update the car in order to keep it current and up to date with the latest design so we do expect an exterior facelift, upgrades inside the cabin as well as possibly more efficient engines.
Interior of the new 2016 Infiniti JX35
The interior of the Infiniti JX35 2016 will be the biggest change over the current model of the car which boasts a worse than average interior that has a lot of plastics on the dashboard and doors and less than idea seats.
The new model will get an all new design for its dashboard as well as much better materials and all those plastics will be replaced with leather, aluminum or wood which should improve the way it feels considerably. The second row of seats will be just as clever as before and this time around it will also get heating and ventilation on the higher end trim levels.
2016 Infiniti JX 35 Exterior
On the outside, the car will get only a mild facelift which means that the basic shape will remain unchanged. However, the front will likely get their new LED headlights as well as a new bumper while at the back the tail lights should receive new LED clusters.
The front grille will also change in order to fall in line with most of their other models while the back will get a slightly more aggressive bumper which this time will also feature a visible exhaust.
Infiniti JX 35 Engine
In terms of engines, the 2016 Infiniti JX35 will get rid of its current 3.5 liter V6 in the favor of another 3.5 liter V6. Unlike the previous one, this new engine will feature direct injection as well as a few other upgrades which will raise its power to 300 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque, a nearly 15% improvement over the previous V6. On top of that, thanks to a differently tweaked CVT as well as a more efficient all wheel drive system, the car will get a boost in fuel efficiency to around 22 MPG in the city and up to 30 MPG on the highway.
The hybrid will carry on unchanged so it will get the same 2.5 liter supercharged inline 4 petrol engine coupled to an electric motor. This powertrain will offer 230 horsepower and 243 lb-ft of torque while offering slightly better fuel efficiency in the city and similar on the highway which means it may be discontinued or replaced shortly after the initial release of the car.
2016 Infiniti JX35 Price and Release date
The price will likely stick around $43,000 which is still great considering the car will continue to offer seven seats in its base form as well as a lot of features for the money, its only drawback being the sub-par engines and the less than ideal ride quality.
These will be addressed in the new model though which will get a new suspension system that will not be as great to drive as before but it will get rid of all the vibrations and noises of the previous one and it should provide its passengers with a much more comfortable ride. The release for the new model will likely be in the mid of 2016 and the production model should be ready for the end of that year.
